  • Yamunotri

Sage Asit Muni whose hermitage was located near Yamunotri used to go to bath in both Ganga and Yamuna river. When he became old the stream of Ganga river appeared opposite to Yamunotri, that's how he performed his regular bath in his last days, that is how Yamunotri dham came in it's present day form.
